Happy Hippos 2 - 5+ Years
Welcome to the Happy Hippos! This room is to provide care for children aged between 2 to 5+ years.
We divide the room into seven areas of play; Make and Do, Role Play, Building/Small World, Finding Out, Quiet Book, IT. and Writing. The children have access to all these areas every day.
The daily routine consists of Greeting time, small group time, plan-do-review, snack bar, tidy up time, large group time, outside time and home time.
Each child has their own key worker who plans activities for small group time. Activities are planned through the preschool High/Scope key experiences and the early years foundation stages.(EYFS)
These activities are adapted to suit the needs of each child.
Each key worker also observes the children by writing anecdotal notes.
