Welcome
Little Learners opened at Cannons Health Club, Northern Parade in September 2004. Our nursery follows the High/Scope approach where the children are able to choose and learn through their own experiences, we have both adult led and child led activities and we beilive that every activity has a learning opportunity.
We are Ofsted Registered and are able to take up to 25 children aged from 3 months to 8 years. The nursery is divied into two areas:-
3 months to 2 yrs Cuddly Koalas and 2 to 5+ yrs Happy Hippos
The children have use of a lovely garden which can be used rain or shine. The children have regular outings to the park, walks along the shore and Hilsea lake where they can feed the ducks. The children have adopted two swans on their walks Fred and Wilma who live along the shoreline.
We also arrange for outside agencies to visit the nursery e.g. Police, Fire, Dentist to talk to the children. Once a month we have the Library bus visit the nursery; the children are able to choose books for the nursery and have a story read to them by the librarian.
Choosing a nursery is going to be one of the biggest deasions you will make. To help you with this process easier we offer home visits, settling in sessions for you and your child.
Once you have choosen the nursery our settling sessions are four 1 hour visits. This is a chance for you to meet the other team members at Little Learners; to ask questions, to bring Dad along to see what the nursery is like and most of all the time for your pride of joy to meet us and to see how much fun we can have at Little Learners.
